Gwyneth Paltrow

Paltrow said at the beginning of 2011 that meditating is something she wants to take up: “My New Year’s resolution is to learn how to meditate. It’s always sounded like something I should do, but I don’t know how to. My friends who do it say it’s really freakin’ brilliant. They say you can’t know the peace/awareness/contentment until you do it.”

Sting

Sting and his wife both practice yoga and meditation. Sting says that before, the only sort of meditation he did was through writing songs: “Yoga introduced me to a style of meditation. The only meditation I would have done before would be in the writing of songs”.

Russell Simmons

Entrepreneur Russell Simmons  has been practicing meditation for 12 years. He believes it has given him numerous benefits: “It has given me energy, strength, health, wisdom, and access to my own inner stillness, inner silence, inner bliss. It is my connection to myself; it is my connection to the universe.”

Gisele Bundchen

Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen says that mediating regularly kept her healthy during her pregnancy. It also reportedly aided her throughout the birth of her son, which was a natural water birth that took place in a bath tub. Gisele spoke on the topic: “I kept myself in good shape, eating healthily, meditating and doing exercises such as kung fu and yoga.”

David Lynch

Director David Lynch is really devoted to mediation – he has been meditating twice a day for 38 years. Not only has he written a book about it, he has also launched  the David Lynch Foundation, “dedicated to providing students with the opportunity to learn how to meditate”.
