5 Celebrities Who Say They Can’t Cook

Some people were born not to cook! Sure, they can improve their skills with lessons or with time, but these 5 stars insist they just don’t belong in the kitchen. Some say they can barely make toast, while others prefer to dine out in restaurants instead of cooking and so have never developed any culinary skills. Some celebs really want to step into the chef role, but after some kitchen accidents (burning and dish dropping) they feel as though they are better off ordering some takeout then burning the house down while making cereal (it happens!).

Beyonce

Beyonce wishes she could cook well, but often ends up burning things: “I like the idea of being able to cook but I just can’t do it. I have to call my mom and she has to be on the phone the whole time because I’m burning stuff.”

Robert De Niro

Robert is a big fan of fine dining but can’t cook himself: “I don’t cook. I don’t cook at all, unfortunately. The only good thing I make is a cup of coffee. I go to Nobu a lot. And I pay like everyone else. I don’t get a special discount or anything. It’s just like a policy.”

Penelope Cruz

Penelope tries to cook but doesn’t do a very good job: “I can cook a little bit. I can cook a few Spanish dishes but it looks, in movies, that I cook much better than I cook. The things I can make, can taste pretty bad. I am not the most organized person in the kitchen but I took a lot of lessons. But my lessons were more like to be the assistant of a chef so I could learn to cut the vegetables very fast. I can do all of those things really well but then I’m not that good at cooking.”

Keira Knightley

Keira has tried to cook in the past but it usually results in an accident: “I am not the best cook in the world. I have tried, but I really am hopeless. I can cook maybe one dish. But even then, if you ate it, you’d probably end up with food poisoning. Recently, a friend explained how to make an eggplant bake. I brought it out of the oven in this beautiful bowl – and dropped it. It smashed all over the kitchen, and I burst into tears. Which is why I will ask Santa for some easy-to-understand cook books.”

Drew Barrymore

Drew wouldn’t want anyone to sample anything she’s made: “I don’t cook, I can’t cook. It is really abominable to see me in the kitchen. My culinary skills are terrible. I can’t even make toast that tastes good. I don’t have that skill. I will make scrambled eggs for myself on occasions of necessity but I wouldn’t even inflict that on anyone else.”
