Blake finds those scenes uncomfortable: “Filming sex scenes is always just terrible. Terrible. The actors are uncomfortable, the crew are uncomfortable. But, at the same time, you’re all trying to make it as exciting as possible.”

Eva Mendes

Eva finds sex scenes so awkward she tries to skip them as often as possible: “Love scenes are always awkward. They’re awful. I’ve managed to really skip through them. When I read that my character has a love scene I carefully address it with the director: ‘Can we please cut this out? It’s gratuitous and there’s no need for it,’ and thankfully that has happened.”

Natalie Portman

Natalie had to film an awkward sex scene for ‘Black Swan’ with Mila Kunis, and says they simply tried to laugh it off that uncomfortable feeling: “It was pretty awkward. I almost feel like it would be easier to do it with someone you didn’t know. But, having said that, it was great to have a friend there who, we could laugh and make jokes and get over it together.”

Shailene Woodley

Shailene thinks sex scenes are awkward but that can come in useful sometimes: “It’s always an awkward situation when you have to pretend to be intimate with someone that you’re not actually intimate with – I think the awkwardness probably lends itself to these great virginity scenes.”

Zach Braff

Zach had to film an awkward sex scene but thinks it just made the end result look more real: “Filming that scene was awkward. But that’s one of the things I like about the way the sex scene is done- the honesty of it. It’s not one of those sex scenes where he lays down on the bed and everything’s beautiful, shot through filters. It’s a fumbling, awkward, elbows everywhere kind of scene.”
