6 Stars & Their Opinions on Gay Marriage

Many stars have raised their voices to show their support for same-sex marriage, even though they have been targeted for their opinion after, such as Brad Pitt, who says he received hate mail from religious groups after stating that he won’t marry his long-term partner Angelina Jolie until gay marriage is legal everywhere. Other celebs have also bravely given their opinions on the topic – here is what they have to say.

Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert believes the government needs to honor the Constitution:  ”All of a sudden, when it comes to the gay and lesbian community, we’re reverting back into ‘Religion!’ and ‘Sanctity!’ and all this, You know what — separation, church and state. Let’s keep the integrity of our Constitution, how’s that? The sanctity of our Constitution.”

Mo’Nique

Oscar winning actress Mo’Nique made a video in support of gay marriage in which she stated: “I believe since we’ve all been given free will, let’s use our will to let others be free, gay and lesbian couples believe in commitment, family and love.”

Kelsey Grammer

Kelsey Grammer says he has always been a firm believer in gay marriage: “I’ve always believed (in same-sex marriage). I guess I’m more libertarian in that way. I think marriage is up to two people that love each other, and if you find a church that you want to get married in, you go right ahead.”

Clint Eastwood

Clint Eastwood wishes people wouldn’t make it into such a big deal: “These people who are making a big deal about gay marriage? I don’t give a f*ck about who wants to get married to anybody else! Why not!? We’re making a big deal out of things we shouldn’t be making a big deal about of. Just give everybody the chance to have the life they want.”

Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron feels everyone should have equal rights: “I do have a problem with the fact that our government has not stepped up enough to make [marriage equality] federal…I really understand marriage and I respect marriage. I just feel that we should all have equal rights.”

Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt has said he won’t get married to Angelina Jolie until everyone else can marry too: “I have love in my life, a soul mate – absolutely. When someone asked me why Angie and I don’t get married, I replied, ‘Maybe we’ll get married when it’s legal for everyone else.’ I stand by that, although I took a lot of flak for saying it – hate mail from religious groups. They say gay marriage ruins families and hurts kids. Well, I’ve had the privilege of seeing my gay friends being parents and watching their kids grow up in a loving environment.”
