Zoe Kravitz Opens Up On Having Famous Parents

Zoe Kravitz, daughter of musician Lenny Kravitz & actress Lisa Bonet has recently landed a role in the upcoming ‘X-Men: First Class’ movie, but believes that having famous parents is as often a hindrance to her as it is a help. Zoe admitted that she didn’t really believe she’d get the part in the new movie, but decided to audition because her agent asked her to give it a try. She explained:

“I just think I auditioned because people were auditioning and my agent was like, ‘Please go’, and had to talk me into going.”

Zoe says that having famous parents can have its drawbacks, but also provides her with opportunities too:

“Having well-known parents is kind of a double-edged sword. It’s given me wonderful opportunities, but people also like to knock you down because of it too and say that you have got things because of that.”

Zoe says that her famous parents have helped her to not get too caught up in the serious side of acting:

“They told me not to take it seriously. People get very serious about the Hollywood fame thing and the reason I think I came out level-headed was that they didn’t raise me to think it was anything serious. I had no illusions. People get way too deep about it and in the end it’s just a job and we’re all equal.”

Zoe will star alongside January Jones and Oscar-nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence in the upcoming X-Men: First Class film.
