SUMMARY

  • D’Andre Swift
  • David Njoku
  • Mike Williams
  • Jaylen Waddle

1. D’Andre Swift

UPDATE: Swift (ankle) participated in full practice on Thursday.

Swift began the week with a limited performance due to an ankle injury, but it had no effect on his activity level one day later, effectively clearing him for Week 14 action.

The Lions added Jamaal Williams (hand) to the injury report on Thursday, but he, too, was able to complete a full practice.

As a result, the Swift-Williams backfield is ready for Sunday’s game against the Vikings.

2. David Njoku

UPDATE: According to beat writer Scot Petrak, Njoku (knee) practiced in a limited capacity again on Thursday.

According to beat writer Scott Petrak, Njoku (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice.

He did not play in last week’s game against the Texans after suffering a leg injury against the Buccaneers in Week 12.

After missing practice last week, Njoku’s return to practice is a good sign for his availability on Sunday afternoon.

He had five receptions (seven targets) for 29 yards and a touchdown against the Buccaneers the last time we saw him.

If Njoku is able to play on Sunday, he will face a neutral matchup against a Bengals defense that has been average against tight ends all season.

However, owners should not be discouraged from starting Njoku, who has performed like a TE1 when healthy this season.

3. Mike Williams

UPDATE: Williams (ankle) was seen participating in individual drills during Thursday’s practice, according to The Athletic’s Daniel Popper.

Williams (ankle) took part in limited practice on Wednesday after missing the previous two games due to a high-ankle sprain.

It’s encouraging to see the veteran wide receiver back at practice after aggravating his ankle injury against the Chiefs in Week 11.

If Williams can get through the week without any setbacks, he should be able to play against the Dolphins on Sunday night.

Because Miami allows the 12th most passing yards per game, Williams is still a viable starting option.

Josh Palmer can still be used as a flex, and if Williams sits again, Palmer and DeAndre Carter can both be used in deep-league lineups.

4. Jaylen Waddle

UPDATE: According to the Miami Herald’s Daniel Oyefusi, Waddle (fibula) was among several Dolphins players listed as limited at Wednesday’s practice.

In last week’s loss to the 49ers, the second-year wide receiver suffered a leg injury.

He was taken out of the game in the second quarter but returned after x-rays. He finished with one reception for nine yards on five targets.

Assuming Waddle continues to practice in some capacity, he should be ready to face the Chargers’ average pass defense.

If Waddle suffers an injury, Trent Sherfield will likely step up and earn a WR3/flex spot in 12-team leagues.
