The video of the remake “We Are The World” which is now renamed “We Are The World –  25 for Haiti” premiered before the broadcast of the opening of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. Lionel Richie was at first reluctant to remake the song because he felt it was too iconic to have a remake, but when the Haiti tragedy struck, he felt it was for such a good cause that the remake could go ahead.

The 8 minute long video begins with  Jamie Foxx encouraging viewers to help out in any way that they can and to make donations for the cause. The video shows not only the 70 artists that contributed in the studio, but also clips of Haiti – the people singing and beginning to rebuild their lives. There is also a few clips of Michael Jackson included as a tribute and he is the only artist of the original “We Are the World” to feature in the single.

You can check out the video here on youtube.
