SUMMARY

  • Josh Allen
  • Aaron Jones
  • Romeo Doubs

1. Josh Allen

UPDATE: According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Allen will be limited this week due to an elbow injury. Rapoport adds that Allen is still undergoing tests and that the situation is being closely monitored.

According to ProFootballTalk’s Josh Alper, Allen told reporters on Sunday that he was feeling “slight pain” in his right elbow after being sacked to end the game against the Jets.

However, the MVP candidate added that he will “work through it” as the Bills prepare to face the Vikings in Week 10.

For the time being, we’re assuming Allen will be fine, but if he’s out for Week 10, fantasy owners in deep leagues should consider Andy Dalton (vs. Steelers), Jimmy Garoppolo (vs. Chargers), and Marcus Mariota (vs. Panthers), all of whom are widely available on waiver wires.

In deep leagues, Baker Mayfield (vs. Falcons), Jacoby Brissett (vs. Dolphins), or even Sam Ehlinger (vs. Raiders) should be considered. Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis will still be must-starts with Case Keenum at the helm, but their value has diminished.

2. Aaron Jones

Jones (ankle) was seen limping and grimacing in the postgame after leaving the game in the third quarter on Sunday, according to beat writer Matt Schneidman.

According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, he told reporters that his X-rays came back negative, and later added that his “X-rays were fine, but they decided to hold me out.”

Jones should be considered “questionable” for Week 10 against the Cowboys, but he has a good chance of playing.

If Jones is unable to practice this week, owners should plan on using AJ Dillon as their RB2.

The former Boston College standout lacks Jones’ pass-catching ability, but he’s a strong runner who can grind out yards even in tough matchups.

3. Romeo Doubs

UPDATE: According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the rookie receiver suffered a high-ankle sprain in Sunday’s game. Rapoport adds that high-ankle sprains are typically 4–6-week injuries, but Doubs will be evaluated further to determine the timeframe.

According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, Doubs (ankle) was seen with a walking boot on his right foot and crutches following Sunday’s loss to the Lions. The rookie was injured on the Packers’ first offensive drive of the game.

The Packers were hit by the injury bug twice at wide receiver, as Christian Watson suffered a concussion for the second week in a row.

If Doubs is out next week, the Packers’ wide receiver options will be Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins, and Samori Toure.

Lazard is already heavily owned, but Toure could be worth a look as a Week 10 deep sleeper.

He’s made a couple of big catches recently, and the Packers may have to throw a lot to keep up with Dallas.
