Trench Deep: The New Coat’s for 2010

Posted by PZ on December 28th, 2009

Trench coats have been around for quite some time – and have always made a big statement when they make a comeback. This time the trench has been renovated by several designers for 2010.

Alexander Wang (3rd picture from left) cut off the sleeve’s of his trench, leaving it with a boyish charm and a simple tailored look. He teamed them with shorts and socks for a sporty, masculine ensemble.

Burberry (1st from left) – the master of the trench, created a lilac, belted number with big puffy sleeves. I really like this jacket. It’s a stylish, fresh vision on a simple, timeless classic and I really think it looks so chic with the neutral tone shoes. The colour pallet melded with the 2010 cut of the coat characterise Christopher Bailey’s design ethos.

Marc By Marc Jacobs (4th from left) injected fun and youthful vigour into the trench, by adding colours randomly throughout the outfit. The headband is really adorable, while the bag and shoes are really inventive and just out and out fun.

John Galliano’s (2nd from left) trench was an oversized version of a traditional trench coat, topped off with a top hat! I really liked Galliano’s version, it’s a simple take on the coat, yet it seems to exude an air of coolness.

Get ready to dive into the biggest trench of the season with this statement look. The top hat is optional, and only for the very brave!
