The X Factor Week 3 Results Show

Posted by Angela on October 25th, 2010

Guilty pleasures hit The X Factor stage on Saturday night and one of the remaining 12 acts has just exited the stage for the last time. Check out my recap of the Week 3 performances here!

The show opened with a group performance of “Forget You” by Cee Lo Green. It’s the usual cutesy, matching outfits fare. We also see Michael Buble sing his new song “Hollywood” and judge Cheryl Cole perform “Promise Me.” Buble’s performance is dull, but Cheryl’s is fun with some good dancing.

Finally, it’s time for the results. Dermot announces the results maddeningly slow and when we’re down to three, I’m again infuriated that Wagner and Katie Waissel have managed to slip by the vote. Paije Richardson, Treyc Cohen, and John Adeleye are left standing. Paije is safe and Treyc and John will be singing in a face-off.

John goes first and it’s a disaster. I love his voice, but the song choice “Because of You” doesn’t quite work for him. Not only that, he doesn’t seem too prepared and ends up stumbling over some of the lyrics. Not a good sign.

Treyc sings Jennifer Hudson’s “One Night Only,” which is glorious. Great song for her and she puts everything she has into it. She’s definitely my pick to stay between these bottom two acts.

That leads us to the judges’ votes. Louis and Cheryl predictably back their own acts, and Dannii and Simon both end up sending John home. I’ll miss him but I’m not too torn up about it.

Rumor has it that next week’s The X Factor theme is Halloween… I’m scared already.
