The New Orleans Saints announced their practice squad elevations for Week 2’s game, but Alvin Kamara’s availability is still in doubt.

Especially, just one player has been promoted for the NFC South contest: defensive tackle Christian Ringo, who was also promoted for Week 1’s game. This could be important for Alvin Kamara. The star running back is officially listed as a suitable factor on Sunday due to a rib injury that takes 2 days for practicing. Early this week, New Orleans signed veteran running back Latavius Murray to the practice squad and would have likely dynamited him if Kamara be unable to play.
It’s worth noting that backup running back Dwayne Washington is also questionable due to a hamstring injury, meaning two players with a good health Mark Ingram II and Tony Jones Jr entering Week 2 at that position. The decision to keep Murray on the sideline (teams can bring up two practice squad players per week but New Orleans only brought up one) may reveal that they are truly think Kamara can play, but we’ll have to wait until the inactive list is released on Sunday morning.
Ringo saw 22 defensive snaps in the season opener, playing behind David Onye Mata (47 snaps), Shy Tuttle (41), and Kentavius Street (31). He’s been filling in for Malcolm Roach, who was placed on reserve for the 1st four weeks of the season. NFL rules are permitted to elevate a practice squad player like this for three games per season; if they want to keep playing Ringo after that, they must sign him to the 53-man roster.
