Chuba Robert-Shamar Hubbard (born June 11, 1999) is a Canadian professional American football running back for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Oklahoma State.

UPDATE (DEC. 18): Hubbard rushed 14 times for 74 yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks’ 30-24 victory on Sunday. In addition, he caught all three of his targets for a total of 25 yards.

UPDATE 2: Hubbard (ankle) returned to full practice on Wednesday and is now listed as “questionable” for Thursday’s game.
UPDATE: Hubbard (ankle) fully practiced on Tuesday, increasing his chances of playing this Thursday.
Hubbard finished Week 7 with nine carries for 63 yards and a rushing touchdown and appeared to be a contender for the starting job in the backfield.
However, he has missed the Panthers’ last two games due to an ankle injury.
Because of the short turnaround from Sunday, any participation in practice can help determine his playing status for Thursday.
Hubbard is on the right track heading into kickoff, as he was able to log full practices on Tuesday and Wednesday. Still, it’s best to double-check before Thursday’s game in case a lineup change is required.
Hubbard’s likely return means he’ll have to compete for carries with D’Onta Foreman, who has two 100-yard rushing games in the last three games.
Foreman’s quiet performance last week, in which he gained only 23 yards on seven carries, could indicate that Carolina gives Hubbard a fair share of rushing attempts.
Despite the fact that Foreman outran Hubbard 15-to-9 the last time they met, the latter is still a key player in the Panthers’ run game.
