The Last Of Us TV Show Sure Looks Like The Game

In a tweet showing various scenes from the recent trailer for the TLoU TV show, HBO revealed just how close the upcoming series will be to the game’s framing, pacing, and even character expressions.

The Last of Us on HBO was announced in early March 2020. However, the pandemic has delayed things significantly. Deadline has now confirmed that we won’t see the series in 2022.

It will hit screens in 2023, though we don’t know the exact month yet. At this year’s Summer Game Fest, called “the most authentic video game adaptation yet”

Coming in around 1:40, the roughly twenty seconds of footage doesn’t give us much to go on but naturally the show will include guns, somber music,  infected, violence and naturally some lame writing saying humans are the actual monsters.

HBO may be laying the groundwork to build The Last of Us as another mega-franchise under its banner. It’s clearly doing this with Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, but the vibe here is that The Last of Us also has the potential to be another next big thing for them.
