Smooth Move, Oks-Lax: Oksana Is Maybe Lying About Mel Gibson

Los Angeles County Sheriffs department said July 8, 2010 they are looking into claims that Oscar-winning Gibson physically abused his former girlfriend and the mother of one of his children. Oksana Grigorieva might have just totally screwed her credibility in her abuse case against Mel Gibson. Oksana has claimed that Gibson told her he wanted “Jew blood on his hands” and that he had hired someone to assault or kill a high-profile Hollywood player who was Jewish. This person was later revealed by Oksana to be Harvey Levin, the owner of TMZ, who first broke the story about Gibson’s drunk, sexist, anti-Semitic rant in 2006.

All the evidence is pointing against her, though: someone who was mediating the custody fight back in May says that Oksana never mentioned this, even though she threw everything she had to see what stuck; Levin himself says that a) she has the wrong gym, and b) he never received any sort of notice from the police; and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department denies ever hearing about death threats against Levin.

This…is not good. Enough people already think that the leaked audio tapes are a set-up that Oksana couldn’t really afford anything that would make her look like a liar. I mean, obviously, this is just the court of public opinion; it’s up to legal experts to determine the veracity of her claims, but it doesn’t help for people to think there’s even a chance you’re lying when it comes to something as serious as abuse. I personally think Gibson is guilty of something, but Oksana might be making the classic mistake of piling plausible lies onto the truth instead of letting the truth speak for itself.
