Sky: Children of the Light announced a new update called Season of Aurora, which includes a collaboration with singer-songwriter AURORA.

Sky Season of Aurora Teases Collaboration with Aurora

Sky: Children of the Light has an ethereal, mystical atmosphere. As a result, it’s fitting that its upcoming collaboration will be with an artist known for her ethereal, mystic voice. Season of Aurora, according to developer thatgamecompany, is a one-of-a-kind experience featuring Norwegian singer-songwriter AURORA.

Aurora Aksnes (born 15 June 1996), known mononymously as Aurora, is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, dancer and record producer. Aurora rose to prominence with her debut extended play (EP), Running with the Wolves (2015), which included the sleeper hit “Runaway.” Later that year, she sang a cover of the Oasis song “Half the World Away” for the John Lewis Christmas commercial. In the Disney film Frozen 2, she also played “The Voice,” an ethereal presence calling Elsa away from her kingdom.

Sky was developed by thatgamecompany, which also developed Journey. In the world of Sky, players take control of a “Child of Light” and fly through various environments, gathering scattered light to return the stars to the heavens.  Players solve puzzles, explore, and interact and cooperate with strangers using unique multiplayer mechanics.

The teaser doesn’t say much about the event’s nature or when it will take place, other than “Fall 2022.”

However, it does feature artwork in Sky’s folk style that focuses on a figure standing atop a podium, as seen by many in an audience or celebration. The video ends with lyrics sung by AURORA. Could the Season of Aurora be some kind of live virtual concert or ongoing event? More information will be released at the 2022 Tokyo Game Show, which is currently scheduled for mid-September.
