Nicolas Cage Bailed Out Of Jail By Fellow Celebrity

Nicolas Cage was arrested early Saturday morning in New Orleans and booked on charges of domestic abuse battery, disturbing the peace, and public drunkenness. The actor was caught arguing loudly on the street with his wife Alice. After the apparent argument, Cage tried to get into a taxi. When police officers ordered him to get out of the cab, he began yelling at them and was then taken into custody.

Cage was later released after being bailed out by an unlikely source. Reality TV star Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman posted the $11,000 bond needed to get Cage out of jail. Dog insists that he was only fulfilling his job as a bail bondsman and won’t discuss any details of the incident.

“I am a truly dedicated fan of Mr. Cage and will not be granting any interviews about my client as I wish to respect his privacy. I performed my duties as a bail bondsman and not in connection with our show. This is what I do for a living. There are two sides of my job: I release my clients after they have been arrested; and pick them up if they don’t show up in court. I do not believe the latter will be the case for Mr. Cage.”

Despite Dog’s wish to respect Cage’s privacy, Dog’s wife and fellow star of their reality show tweeted about the bailout as soon as the actor was released.

“My guy just walked out of the jail d— new Orleans 8 hours holy cow that’s a lot of time to Process one guy.”

Cage is set to appear in court May 31.
