Kara DioGuardi’s new book, a memoir named ‘A Helluva High Note’ claims that the singer/songwriter was the subject of multiple cases of sexual harassment and date rape. Thus, snippets have been published all over the internet, along with details of the new book which reveals shocking details of how Kara was date raped by a famous Spanish-speaking producer. Kara obviously doesn’t name names, but despite several claims of molestation and harassment in the book, Kara has never pressed charges against anyone – something which any self-respecting woman would do if they were faced with the sort of sexual harassment she has described throughout.

In the incident regarding the famous producer, Kara said that what she expected to be a “friendly dinner” quickly turned terrifying. She wrote:

“Within a few hours, he was on top of me, pumping, sweating, and speaking to me in Spanish, not a word of which I could understand”.

Kara should name and shame all of the people she has called out anonymously in her book. The skeletons she has pulled out of the closet could continue to re-offend if she doesn’t – and there is no proof that this isn’t one gigantic ruse to sell books otherwise. Perhaps it’s wrong to question her honesty, but as someone in the public eye, she needs to act like a role model for any other women who might be faced with a similar case of harassment. She can’t simply claim that these seriously horrific events happened to her – she needs to stand up and do something about it – until then, I won’t be buying that book.
