The Webby Awards take place each year to honor celebrities, internet personalities, and websites in a wide range of categories. It is known as the “Oscars of the Web” and is now in its 15th year. Many different celebrities are nominated this year for taking part in things other than their typical work.

Justin Bieber is nominated in the Comedy: Individual Short or Episode category for his takeover of Funny or Die. Zach Galifianakis is also nominated in this category as well as in Best Web Personality for his faux talk show “Between Two Ferns” on the same website.

Jimmy Fallon, Conan O’Brien, Lisa Kudrow, Isaiah Mustafa of the Old Spice commercials, Antoine Dodson of the “Bed Intruder Song,” and stars of The Office and 30 Rock also scored nominations. On a more serious note, Katy Perry is a nominee in the Best Non-Profit/Education Campaign category for her charity website “Pieces of Katy.”

The winner of each category will be announced on May 3, followed by an awards ceremony to take place in New York on June 13. The winners will have the opportunity to give an acceptance speech. The only catch is that each speech is only allowed to be 5 words long.

It will be interesting to hear what kind of speeches stars will come up with when forced to keep it so short. Jimmy Fallon’s acceptance speech for one of his previous wins was simply,

“Thank God Conan got promoted.”
