Is Rudy Gobert, Karl-Anthony Towns playing vs. Wizards? Injury Reports Timberwolves

The Washington Wizards and Minnesota Timberwolves will take the court Thursday at Target Center. The game starts at 8:00 p.m. ET

Update Injury for Washington Wizards and Minnesota Timberwolves

Monday, the Minnesota Timberwolves (31-29 SU and 29-31 ATS) beat Dallas 124-121. The T-Wolves are 3-2 against the spread in their last five games, and they are ten games behind the leaders in the Northwest division.

Injury reports: Center Rudy Gobert isn’t sure if he will play Thursday because of a groin injury. Forward Kyle Anderson isn’t sure if he will play Thursday because of a back injury, and forward Karl-Anthony Towns is out for the rest of the season because of a calf injury.

Kyle Anderson still has back spasms, but he played in the Wolves’ last two games and scored 24 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, gave 7 assists, stole 3 balls, and blocked 1 shot in 41 minutes.

If the veteran sits out the last game before the All-Star break, Taurean Prince, Jaylen Nowell, and Jaden McDaniels could get more playing time.

  • Rudy Gobert – Questionable

Rudy Gobert’s right groin is still hurting, but he has played in the last two games and has averaged 14.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 29.5 minutes per game.

If he can’t play in Minnesota’s last game before the All-Star break, Naz Reid should get more playing time.

  • Update Karl-Anthony Towns’ injury status

Shams Charania said on Tuesday’s “FanDuel TV” that the Timberwolves are hoping Karl-Anthony Towns (calf) will be ready to play again sometime in their last “10 to 15 games” of the season.

The Timberwolves have only said that Towns should be back before the end of the season. They haven’t given a firm date for when the star big man might be ready to come back from the Grade 3 right calf strain that has kept him out since November 28.

Still, Charania’s report gives at least a little more information about that. If Towns’s target date of the Timberwolves’ last 10–15 games is correct, he won’t be ready to play after the All-Star break, but he could be back between March 10 and March 20.

On Tuesday, Washington (27-30 SU and 27-27-3 ATS) beat Portland 126-101. The Wizards are 3-2 against the spread in their last five games, and they are 4.5 games behind the leaders in the Southeast division.

Injury Reports: None.
