  • Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals’ season is not going well. They have now lost four consecutive games and are 4-10 on the season.

They have one of the worst records in the NFC and are officially out of the playoffs. The team appears to have given up, as they were defeated 24-15 by the Denver Broncos last weekend.

The Cardinals have been decimated by injuries at this point in the season, so it’s garbage time. The injury list is so long at this point that it might be easier to list the players who aren’t injured.

Colt McCoy started at quarterback in last Sunday’s loss to the Broncos in place of Kyler Murray, who was injured the week before in the third play of a loss to the Patriots.

However, McCoy was injured in the Broncos game and Trace McSorley took over at quarterback. So McCoy is out for this game on Sunday, and it appears that McSorley will start at quarterback on Christmas Day.

The Cardinals, despite their depleted roster, will have two huge weapons on the field on Sunday in running back James Conner and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

The Cardinals average 18.9 points per game, which ranks 18th in the NFL, and they allow 26.6 points per game, which ranks dead last.

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have found themselves in an unexpected dogfight in the NFC South. They are 6-8 on the season and have only a one-game lead over the rest of the division, as the Panthers, Falcons, and Saints are all 5-9. Someone from this division must make the playoffs, which is currently unknown.

As a result, this game, like the rest of Tampa Bay’s games this season, becomes extremely important. The Buccaneers got into this situation by losing three of their last four games.

Last weekend, they were defeated 34-23 by the Cincinnati Bengals after blowing a 17-3 halftime lead. Joe Burrow and the Bengals stormed back to win the game, forcing four turnovers (two fumble recoveries and two interceptions).

Tom Brady completed 30 of 44 passes for 312 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. Chris Godwin caught one of the touchdown passes, while Russell Gage caught two. The Buccaneers’ offensive and defensive lines are both injured, with tackle Tristan Wirfs, among others, out and defensive linemen Vita Vea and Carl Nassib listed as questionable.

The Buccaneers are 28th in points per game, averaging 17.6, and 10th in points allowed, averaging 20.6 per game.
