The latest injury updates New York Knicks – Miami Heat

THE KNICKS

Before this game, the New York Knicks beat the Brooklyn Nets by a score of 142-118. They were great on both ends of the court. If they want to beat the Heat on the road, they will have to stay aggressive in this game.

  • Jalen Brunson – Ready

During Wednesday’s 142-118 win over Brooklyn, Jalen Brunson had 39 points (15-18 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 6 assists, and 5 rebounds in 36 minutes.

Brunson had his fourth-best scoring game of the season, and the Knicks, who are on a roll, scored 81 points in just the first two quarters.

After not making his first All-Star team, Brunson got off to a slow start in his first three games of the second half, but his performance on Wednesday should have put to rest any worries that his production would go down by a lot for the rest of the season.

Injury Report: No Injuries

THE HEAT

The Miami Heat lost to the Philadelphia 76ers, 119-96, in their last game. They had trouble scoring, so they’ll need to get hot from the field if they want to take care of business at home.

  • Jimmy Butler – Questionable

Butler is questionable for Friday’s game against the Knicks because his right knee is hurting.

Butler’s knee injury is still bothering him, so it wouldn’t be surprising if Miami held their star forward out of either of their back-to-back games against the Knicks and Atlanta.

If he doesn’t play on Friday, Caleb Martin, Duncan Robinson, and Max Strus could get more time on the court.

Injury Report: Kyle Lowry (Knee), Omer Yurtseven (Ankle), and Nikola Jovic (Back) are out. Jimmy Butler (Knee) is questionable.

Nikola Jovic (back) won’t be able to play in this game. Since Dec. 29, when he hurt his back, Jovic hasn’t been able to play. The rookie big man will next get a chance to play on Saturday, when the team plays Atlanta.

Lowry will miss his 11th straight game on Friday. It’s not clear when he’ll be able to play again because of pain in his left knee.

Yurtseven will start his rehab assignment with the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the G League on Wednesday. He hurt his ankle. Since he had ankle surgery before the season, he hasn’t played yet.
