Injury updates for Cooper Kupp, Mark Andrews and Rashod Bateman in Week 9 waiver wire pickups.

Cooper Kupp, Mark Andrews, and Rashod Bateman all left their respective games early. With six teams on bye in Week 9, it’s critical to have your waiver-wire streamers ready if these fantasy starters are unable to return to the field.

Fantasy Injury Updates: Mark Andrews, Cooper Kupp and Rashod Bateman

We’ll give you the most recent information on these pass catchers and explain how their injuries may affect the Week 9 fantasy landscape.

Injury: Knee/shoulder

Andrews missed his second straight day of practice, indicating that he is unlikely to play. He has never missed a game due to injury in his five-year career, but Baltimore may be wise to keep him out.

Andrews sits, he will have 24 days of rest between games (the Ravens have a bye next week) and will be in better shape for the second half of the season.

Andrews would most likely be replaced by Isaiah Likely.

Likely led the Ravens with six receptions (seven targets) for 77 yards and a touchdown against the Buccaneers, and he’ll be heavily involved against the Saints as well.

UPDATE: According to Rams beat writer Gilbert Manzano, Rams head coach Sean McVay said on Friday that Kupp (ankle) will play in the Rams’ Week 9 game against Tampa Bay on Sunday.

The star wide receiver told reporters last Sunday that his ankle sprain “dodged a bullet,” which is good news for fantasy owners.

With Kupp expected to play against the Buccaneers on Sunday, fantasy owners should have no trouble starting him as their WR1.

The Buccaneers’ defense has allowed the 12th-fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season, so this isn’t the best matchup for Kupp, but that’s never been an issue in the past.

  • Rashod Bateman

Update: According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said on Monday that Bateman (foot) will be out for a few weeks because the injury is more serious than originally thought.

It’s good to hear that Bateman’s injury isn’t serious, but this nagging foot injury will need to be monitored throughout the week.

In the event that Bateman is ruled out for Week 9, Devin Duvernay and Demarcus Robinson are viable waiver wire options ahead of a favorable WR matchup in New Orleans. On Thursday, Robinson was Baltimore’s second-leading receiver, with six receptions (eight targets) for 64 yards, and Duvernay had six touches for 64 yards and a touchdown. Both have WR3 upside.
