Because of a groin injury, Donovan Mitchell may sit out Friday’s game against the Thunder.

Mitchell made his return from a three-game absence due to an injured left groin on Tuesday and proceeded to record 24 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists across a total playing time of 38 minutes. In spite of this, the Cavaliers have decided to rest Mitchell on Friday’s game. This is so they do not run the risk of reinjuring Mitchell. Caris LeVert is currently the front-runner to replace Mitchell in the first unit after the latter’s departure.

  • Darius Garland – Ready

Garland finished Thursday’s 113-95 win over Houston with 26 points (9-16 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, nine assists, and four steals in 33 minutes.

Garland stepped up on both ends of the court. He missed a double-double by one assist, and for the fifth straight game, he stole more than one ball.

Garland has been able to do more offensively because Donovan Mitchell is still out with a groin injury. He has scored at least 20 points in 10 of his last 11 games. In the last two weeks, he has been a top-15 player, which has paid off for anyone who took a chance on him in their drafts.
