76ers vs. Spurs Injuries: 2 Questionable, 3 Out

THE SIXERS

The 76ers are coming into this game on the heels of a 105-94 victory over the Orlando Magic. As they will need to maintain efficiency in this one while on the road, they looked good on both ends of the floor.

  • Joel Embiid – Doubt vs. Spurs

Because of soreness in his left foot, Embiid’s status for Friday’s game against San Antonio is in doubt.

Due to a lingering foot injury, Embiid has been listed as questionable in the last four games before being upgraded to available. Montrezl Harrell and Paul Reed may see increased playing time if he can’t play on Friday.

During Wednesday’s 105-94 win over Orlando, Embiid played 35 minutes and tallied 28 points (9-17 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 10-10 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists, and one block.

Despite continuing foot trouble, Embiid has scored 25+ points in each of his last four games while racking up double-digit rebounds. The All-Star center has averaged 33.5 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.6 blocks, 1.4 threes, and 0.9 steals over his last 10 games.

THE SPURS

Spurs head into this contest on the heels of a 119-109 loss to the Sacramento Kings. Even though they had a rough night on both ends of the floor, they need to improve their defensive effort if they want to challenge the 76ers at home.

Langford (hip) will miss his sixth straight game due to left adductor tightness, so he will not play tonight. It’s recommended that both Keita Bates-Diop and Josh Richardson maintain their current workloads or even increase their playing time.

In the meantime, Sochan left Wednesday’s game against the Kings with lower back soreness and will miss at least one game as a result. On Friday, Stanley Johnson, Doug McDermott, and Isaiah Roby could see more playing time.

  • Tre Jones – Questionable

According to Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com, Jones (foot) is questionable for Friday’s game against the 76ers.

After leaving Wednesday’s game against Sacramento with a sore left foot, Jones is unlikely to play on Friday. Without Romeo Langford (hip), Malaki Branham and Josh Richardson should get a lot of minutes at the point guard and shooting guard positions, respectively.
