Dr. Frank Ryan, a celebrity plastic surgeon whose patients included Heidi Montag, Janice Dickinson, Adrianne Curry, and others, has died after driving his car off a cliff. Ryan, 50, had spent an afternoon on the beach with his dog, tweeting shortly before the accident:

“After 25 years of driving by, I finally hiked to the top of the giant sand dune west of Malibu.  Much harder than it looks!  WHEW!”

The good doctor’s Jeep went over the side of the Pacific Coast Highway late yesterday afternoon, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Despite rescue efforts by lifeguards and the Ventura County Fire Department, Ryan was trapped in his car and died of massive head injuries. Experts say he might have survived if his airbags had looked more like the work he did on Heidi Montag’s breasts.

…Too soon? Look, I know it’s mean to make fun of someone’s tragic death – and I have sympathy for his family and friends, for sure – but I kinda hated this guy before he died, because what kind of asshole performs a ridiculous number of procedures on a person like Heidi Montag? The woman wanted her boobs to be pumped up to circus tits, for God’s sake; that’s not normal. Plastic surgeons ride a fine line between helping people feel good about themselves and preying upon their insecurities, and I think this guy crossed it. So rest in peace, Dr. Ryan, but God doesn’t care what you look like.

I’m glad his dog survived, though. (See? I’m not heartless.)
