Don’t Rain On Jennifer Aniston’s Parade

Jennifer Aniston’s latest photo shoot is pretty darn cool, I must say. The actress channeled Barbra Streisand in a shoot for Harper’s Bazaar, recreating some of Babs’ iconic looks, like her Funny Girl leopard-print coat and super-’60s wedge-cut with Cleopatra eyes. Jennifer doesn’t have the intensity that Streisand does, but the cheekbones are a pretty good match.

Some excerpts from the interview:

On meeting Barbra for the first time:

“You know when you meet people you idolize and then you walk away from the conversation thinking, ‘Well, that was a disappointment; they were kinder and more fabulous in my mind’? Well, she was wonderful, and you could talk to her about anything.”

Her potentially awkward New Year’s encounter:

“So, I happened to be talking to her and Jim [Streisand’s husband, James Brolin] when it struck midnight. They said, ‘Excuse us,’ kissed each other, and then, very politely, kissed me.”

On Barbra as an icon:

“Barbra inspires me because there isn’t anything she hasn’t done that she wanted to do, especially as a female in the time when her generation was prime. She’s a true renaissance woman.”

If she could play stylist:

“I’d put her in jeans and a great wedge and a beautiful blouse and a blazer. She’s got legs, man. She’s got a cute butt. She wears little black tights, she’s beautiful.”
