Denzel Washington Admits That He Never Goes to the Cinema

Legendary actor Denzel Washington has admitted that he rarely goes to the cinema despite being one of Hollywood’s most famous male leads. Denzel says it isn’t the cinematic experience that has put him off visiting the cinema, but the waiting paparazzi who have time to build up in big numbers while he’s inside the theater, so he has an unpleasant time when he exits:

”I don’t go to the movies; well, you know, it becomes a drag. You’ve got to go to certain theatres. I went to Century City [in Los Angeles, California] once and by the time I came out, they were waiting, the paparazzi, so it kind of messes up your experiences.”

Denzel cites ‘The Hurt Locker’ which was released in 2008, as one of the last films he saw inside a theater. He embarrassingly admits that he rarely gets the chance to actually go to the movies – probably because he’s so busy actually starring in them of course. Denzel confesses:

”I’m embarrassed to say I’m not much of a film-goer … I haven’t been to the movies in a while. I’m trying to think of the last movie I saw in the theatre. It wasn’t ‘The Hurt Locker’, it had to have been one since then!”
