Daniel Radcliffe Wants to Prove He Can Succeed After Harry Potter

Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe says that he sometimes feels like a fraud because he doubts his acting skills from time to time. He says that he needs to work on making sure he gets into character when he is working on more difficult roles:

“Sometimes I really feel like I’m getting the hang of it, because I never really had a process. My process was mainly that I hit my marks and I said my lines. So I’m kind of trying to find a process that allows me to find a sure fire way into a character, if it doesn’t come easily. “

Daniel says that he has his up and down days – sometimes he feels as though he is progressing at his career and learning how to be a better actor, while other days he feels as though he isn’t:

“I’m working on that. And there are some days when I feel like, ‘Yeah, God, I’m actually learning something, this is great!’ And there are some days when I go, ‘Oh God, I’m never going to feel good at this. I’m never going to feel like I’m not a fraud.’ “

He gets fired up when people doubt his ability to succeed because of Harry Potter, and this pushes him to try and prove them wrong:

“I’m very motivated by the doubts of others. Whenever I hear people talk about the Potter kids as if we are not going to be able to make it out of the series, that really lights a fire under me.”
