Actress Dakota Fanning has revealed that she hates shopping in stores because she doesn’t like the “pressure” involved. She says that while browsing the store rails for something new, she often doesn’t enjoy the process and panics, picking up items that aren’t even her size or don’t fit properly. She explained:

”The pressure of trying things on in a store freaks me out. I usually come back with things that don’t fit.”

Commenting on what she’d love to add to her wardrobe in the near future, Dakota admits she would love to own a pair of Birkenstocks sandals but doesn’t want to just blindly copy the current summer trend and she believes too many people are slaves to what’s seen as cool. Dakota believes in only following trends she believes suit her:

”I really want Birkenstocks, but everyone has white Birkenstocks. So it’s about trying to find the colour that not everyone has. You can’t be a slave to what everyone else thinks looks good, because sometimes it doesn’t look good on you.”

Dakota also reveals her most loved fashion item is a t-shirt she got as a child when her younger sister Elle was born. She explained that althoug the tee fit her for quite some time, it would be a crop top now:

”It’s pink with big blue letters and says ‘I’m the Big Sister. I was so small and it was so big that it fit me forever. Now it would be like a crop top on me, which might be in fashion.”
