  • Tony Pollard’ injury status

Tony Pollard is one of the frontrunners for fantasy football MVP this year, but the Cowboys’ star running back could miss Week 17’s Thursday Night Football game against the Titans. Pollard’s status is uncertain due to a thigh injury, so fantasy football owners should have a backup plan in place just in case Pollard is unable to play on TNF.

Pollard did not practice on Wednesday but is listed as “questionable” for Thursday’s game. He should be considered a true game-time decision at this point, though some reports indicate that he’s been held out for “rest” rather than legitimate injury concerns.

If Pollard is ruled out, Ezekiel Elliott will take on a massive workload as the team’s RB1. Elliott would also move into fantasy RB1 territory, as a 15-touch day is well within his grasp. Malik Davis would also see an increase in usage, but he is only a deep-league flex play at best.

  • Derrick Henry’ injury status

Derrick Henry (hip) is listed as questionable for Thursday’s game against the Cowboys, according to Jim Wyatt of the Titans’ official website.

Given Henry’s status as questionable, Hassan Haskins and Julius Chestnut should see increased backfield snaps against Dallas, while Jonathan Ward is a candidate to be promoted from the team’s practice squad. With Henry unlikely to play Thursday, the Titans’ leading back will presumably shift his focus to preparing for the team’s pivotal divisional matchup with the Jaguars in Week 18.
