20-year-old ‘One Direction’ singer Zayn Malik is engaged to 19-year-old ‘Little Mix’ singer Perrie Edwards, a member of Perrie’s family has confirmed. The couple began dating in 2011 and Zayn even has a tattoo declaring his love for Perrie on his arm. According to reports, Zayn surprised Perrie with a ring last weekend and she was so thrilled that she immediately responded with a yes. A source commented:
“It was so romantic – Zayn popped the question over the weekend when they were alone together. It’s one of the first weekends they’ve spent with each other, as they’ve both been on tours with their bands. He wanted to wait for the perfect moment. All of [Perrie’s] bandmates were at V Festival, and she couldn’t wait to tell them. They’re all really excited for her, as the rest of One Direction are for Zayn.”
The insider reveals that Zayn got down on one knee and popped the question:
“Zayn got down on one knee and presented Perrie with the ring. She couldn’t believe it. It’s a shock to everyone.”
Perrie’s mother confirmed the news:
“Yes it’s true. They got engaged on Sunday and it was absolutely lovely. It’s wonderful because Zayn is absolutely gorgeous and Perrie loves him to pieces. It’s perfect and they get on so well together and understand each other. It’s just fabulous.”
