Britney Spears Sued For $10 Million

A brand marketing company is claiming that Britney Spears cut them out of a deal involving her new fragrance. Brand Sense Partners LLC is suing Britney and her father for breach of contract, fraud, and deceit.

In the lawsuit they filed Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Brand Sense Partners states that the two secretly negotiated a royalties deal with cosmetics company Elizabeth Arden. The company claims that this conflicts with the 35% commission promised to them from the sale of Spears’ radiance perfume in return for securing a contract with Elizabeth Arden. They accuse Britney and her father of being “sneaky and underhanded” in order to cut them out of the deal. Court documents state,

“Effectively, Britney improperly and illegally cut Brand Sense out of the Elizabeth Arden deal.”

Her father, Jamie, and an attorney control her finances as a result of a court-ordered conservatorship established in 2008. Spears has yet to publicly comment on the lawsuit.
