Are Luka Doncic and Ja Morant ready on Monday’s match? Injury Report for Mavericks – Grizzlies

The Dallas Mavericks and Memphis Grizzlies will meet up on Monday. Let’s read on to learn more about the injuries suffered by both teams in this matchup.

The latest Injury Update for Dallas Mavericks and Memphis Grizzlies

DALLAS MAVERICKS REPORT

  • Luka Doncic

The Grizzlies and Mavericks played the first of two games in three days; the Mavericks lost on Saturday without Luka Doncic, who suffered a strain to his left thigh in that game. Kyrie Irving, a recent acquisition, also sat out due to a painful right foot.

Doncic left Wednesday’s 113-106 loss on the road against the New Orleans Pelicans in the third quarter after recording 15 points and eight assists. Doncic is questionable for Monday’s game against Memphis after an MRI on his left thigh came back negative for injury.

After playing 41 minutes against the Pelicans, Irving was benched for the Grizzlies game 90 minutes before tipoff. He scored 27 points to lead Dallas against New Orleans and should be available for the rematch against Memphis.

Memphis will start Tyus Jones at point guard in place of the injured Morant. He’s been contributing on both ends of the court, with 10.1 points and 4.8 dimes per game. With Morant out of action, the offense is relying more on players like Bane (21.3 ppg, 4.2 apg) and Jaren Jackson Jr. (17.0 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 3.2 bpg).

After scoring eight points in Saturday’s victory over Dallas, Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks has averaged 34 minutes per game over the last two contests but needs to step up his offensive output.

In Saturday’s loss to Memphis, Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 23 points and pulled down six rebounds. Christian Wood scored 14 points in relief, and Josh Green added a double-double (21 points and 10 rebounds).

In the event that both Doncic and Irving are unable to play, the Mavericks’ offense will once again rely on Hardy, Hardaway, and Green.

MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES REPORT

  • Ja Morant

The Memphis Grizzlies, without Ja Morant, start a three-game road trip at Dallas on Monday night looking for their third straight win.

As a result of an incident that occurred off the court on March 3 at a Colorado strip club, Morant is scheduled to miss his fifth consecutive game.

His homecoming date is still up in the air, but five days after it looked that the star point guard brandished a weapon during an Instagram live video, police confirmed that Morant would not face criminal charges.

Desmond Bane scored 25 points and David Roddy scored 24 off the bench for a career-high as the Grizzlies beat the Mavericks 112-108 on Saturday night without Morant.

The Grizzlies trailed by three points (83-77) going into the final period, but Roddy’s 17-point output led them to victory.

He fired 7-for-8 from the field (3-for-4) from 3-point range as Memphis overcame an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit to capture its 40th victory of the season.

  • Vince Williams Jr.

Williams will not be available for Monday’s game against Dallas due to a shoulder injury. Williams has missed four consecutive games because of right shoulder pain.

  • Jake LaRavia

On Monday, LaRavia will not play against the Mavericks because of a back injury. A sore back won’t hurt the Grizzlies as much as the rookie would have, since he doesn’t usually play.

Clarke suffered a season-ending left Achilles tear during loss to the Nuggets. So it’s impossible for him to take part in this game today.

This is devastating blow to the Grizzlies and Clarke, who only last October inked four-year, $50 million contract deal.

This
year,
the center played an average of 19.5 minutes per game and averaged 10.0 points (65.6 percent shooting), 5.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.
In his absence, the likes of Santi Aldama, Jake LaRavia, Xavier Tillman, and others could see an increase in playing time in the frontcourt.
  • Steven Adams

The Grizzlies announced that Adams (knee) got a stem cell injection to address the PCL sprain in his right knee and will be re-evaluated in four weeks.
