  • Joel Embiid – Questionable

Because of soreness in his left foot, Embiid’s status for Monday’s game against the Magic is currently in question.

During Saturday’s victory over Denver, Embiid displayed why he is a candidate for MVP honors by scoring 47 points (18-31 from the field, 4-7 from beyond the arc, and 7-10 from the free throw line), grabbing 18 rebounds, dishing out five assists, stealing three balls, and blocking two shots over the course of 38 minutes.

However, the star big man is still dealing with soreness in his left foot, which resulted in him missing four games in January and may cause him to have his workload managed once more on Monday. In that scenario, Montrezl Harrell and Paul Reed would be strong candidates to take on expanded responsibilities.

During Saturday’s victory over the Nuggets by a score of 126-119, James Harden played a total of 36 minutes and recorded 17 points (5-10 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-6 FT), four rebounds, and 13 assists.

The 76ers were led in scoring by Joel Embiid, who finished with 47 points, and James Harden was able to find a lot of success in feeding the big man the ball. Harden was also one of five Philadelphia players who contributed with points in the teen range.

It was his 20th double-double of the season, and he has now averaged 19.4 points, 11.9 assists, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.0 three-pointers over the last ten games he’s played. In addition, he has dished out double-digit assists in eight of those games.

Given the uncertainty surrounding Joel Embiid’s status for Monday’s game, Harden is likely to maintain his expanded role.

Chuma Okeke Mon, Jan 30 Knee
Expected to be out until at least Feb 7

Due to arthroscopic knee surgery at the end of November, Okeke has been out of action since November 21. After a month had passed since the procedure, the Magic were supposed to reevaluate him, but they have not done so. The decision about when and if Okeke will play in future games will be made on a game-by-game basis, but his return to action is uncertain.
