This week, neither Maddox nor Jobe participated in practice.

Because Maddox is out, Josiah Scott will take his place. Scott was limited on Thursday and Friday, but he was fully functional on Saturday and listed as inactive.

Scott is undeniably inferior to Maddox. When targeted this year, the latter has only allowed a 77.5 passer rating.

Scott is allowing a passer rating of 127.5. While this isn’t ideal, it’s better than the perfect 158.3 passer rating allowed by third-string nickel option Andre Chachere last season.

Due to Jobe’s absence, the Eagles will be without a special team’s contributor as well as an extra depth corner.

However, Chachere, who was recently promoted, is likely an upgrade over Jobe as a gunner on punt coverage.

Injury Update for Commanders – Eagles

Washington Commander

The good news for Washington is that Jahan Dotson is listed as inactive. After missing several games, he’ll be back in the lineup.

The bad news for Washington is that starting linebacker Cole Holcomb, backup linebacker David Mayo, and pass-catching running back J.D. McKissic have all been ruled out (who ranks third on the team in targets).

The Commanders also questioned starting left guard Andrew Norwell and fill-in starting center Tyler Larsen.

Larsen did not participate in Friday’s practice before being upgraded to limited on Saturday. Ron Rivera appeared to be optimistic that Larsen could play… but clearly not at full strength. Norwell is a newcomer to the injury report.

In the first meeting between these two teams back in Week 3, Javon Hargrave absolutely ate Norwell’s lunch.

Hargrave is in better shape and playing better than he was back then… and he could be facing a hampered Norwell or his backup. Hargrave may once again feast on the Commanders’ offensive line.

There is no official word on Chase Young’s status, but members of the Commanders’ coaching staff have suggested that he may not be ready to play. Washington has until 4:00 p.m. Eastern time on Monday to activate him.

RESERVE/INJURED

  • DE Derek Barnett
  • DT Jordan Davis
  • TE Jaeden Graham
  • DE Janarius Robinson

Due to the severity of his ACL injury, Barnett will miss the rest of the season. Davis has a high ankle sprain and is expected to return in Week 13 at the earliest.

Graham is out for the season after being placed on injured reserve before the roster was reduced to 53 players. Robinson could return to the roster as soon as Week 11, but the extent of his injury is unknown.

RESERVE/PHYSICALLY UNABLE TO PERFORM

  • TE Tyree Jackson (designated to return)
  • T/G Brett Toth

On October 26, the Eagles activated Jackson’s 21-day practice window. He is eligible to be added to the roster before the deadline of November 16.

If he is not activated for this week’s game, he will make his NFL debut in Week 11.
