Glee, oh, Glee, how I dearly miss thee. All this news about possible plotlines and guest stars is making me antsy, and the soundtrack will only tide me over for so long. So what is guaranteed to set my heart aflutter? Why, the news that Javier Bardem, the Antonio Banderas of the aughts, has spoken to Glee creator/producer/writer Ryan Murphy about a role this coming season. Murphy recently directed Bardem in Eat, Pray, Love, and Bardem used the opportunity to lobby for a part in his director’s TV show, saying that he had watched the entire first season in a week. The two have devised the role of a rock star who takes Artie under his wing. Bardem wants to play some Spanish heavy metal, which, according to him, is “the worst.” Quite a feat. Maybe while he’s at it he can teach Finn how to walk and sing at the same time, and if Principal Figgins gives him any guff – bam! Right between the eyes with a captive bolt pistol.
