Alice and Wonderland Takes Box Office Crown

Posted by PZ on March 14th, 2010

Alice and Wonderland took the #1 spot in the box office, taking in $17.4 million this week, making it’s total $258 million worldwide so far! This is Alice’s second week at the top – and it doesn’t look like it’s having too much trouble staying on top either. Coming in second was Matt Damon’s Green Zone – a film by the same director as the Bourne series. This got off to a weak start this week, and only managed to take in $5 million, not even close enough to threaten Alice and Wonderland off the top spot.

Robert Pattinson proved that a pretty face can make you a cool million – he plays the lead role in Remember Me which came in third this week, taking in $3.6 million – not bad considering the only reason anyone went to this film was because they wanted to see Robert in action or were having Twilight withdrawal symptoms. Here’s the top 5 this week.

1. “Alice in Wonderland” ($17.4 million)
2. “Green Zone” ($5 million)
3. “Remember Me” ($3.6 million)
4. “She’s Out of My League” ($3.3 million)
5. “Our Family Wedding” ($2.5 million)
