5 Stars Who Say They Won’t Retire

They may be passed what many be called their prime, but these 5 stars aren’t going into retirement just yet and say they have plenty of life left. Some say they still feeling like a kid and don’t plan on packing up their careers any time soon just because they are called old, while others may have wrapped up filming their most famous work, but that doesn’t mean that they should take an early retirement either – they will continue to find success in new projects and could even hit their peak yet.

Billy Bob Thornton

Billy Bob often feels like retiring, but the he thinks he would go crazy not having anything to do: “I think about giving up probably three or four times a day but no, not yet. Don’t put me out to pasture. Robert Duvall is not retired! Sometimes I get fed up, but I couldn’t retire – I can’t even go on a vacation. I would go crazy. The idea of going to the Bahamas and just sitting there listening to the water would drive me out of my mind. I don’t understand why people want to do that. I don’t get it.”

Steven Spielberg

Steven often jokes with Clint Eastwood about retiring, but has no plans to end his career yet: “I have no plans to quit. Clint Eastwood is one of my best friends, and we have a joking relationship about retirement. Clint’s like 81 and I always go, ‘OK Clint are you ready to retire this year?’ And he says, ‘No are you?'”

Rupert Grint

Harry Potter may have wrapped up, but Rupert doesn’t feel as though his career is finished and wants to continue working: “I don’t think I’ll ever retire. I still have ambitions. I love being on set, and I want to do more movies. I’m very lucky to have that cushion, but I’d like to keep going. I like testing my capabilities.”

Robert De Niro

Robert feels like a kid and doesn’t listen to those who say he needs to retire: “You know, I’ve only been doing this for about 40 years. It’s actually been longer, but what are they going to give me 40 years from now – the He Lived Too Long Award? A couple of critics suggested it was maybe time for me to retire. I’m still a kid – always a kid. And like most kids, I’m very happy for the approval of grown-ups. Thank you and see you at the Kids Choice Awards.”

Elle Macpherson

Although she believes she will eventually not get as many job offers as before, Elle plans to stick out modeling for as long as she can and doesn’t plan to quit any time soon:  “I’m sure there will be a point where there are less opportunities for me but I don’t think there’ll be one particular day when I say, ‘That’s it, I’m not doing it anymore.’Or maybe, who knows?”
