Fergie

Fergie had a serious drug problem until she had a realization: ”My brain had been playing a lot of tricks on me. You’re kind of living in this alternate reality. I started getting really paranoid. So I went one day into this church and I thought that the FBI and the SWAT teams were outside the church … so I had a conversation with God … and I said, ‘Alright, if I go out there and the FBI and the SWAT team’s not out there, then it’s the drugs and I’m stopping.’ I went outside of the church … and there was no SWAT team, there was no FBI, just me and God. And I kept my promise. That day. That was it.”

Kendra went through a hard time and turned to drugs: “I kind of lost myself for a little bit. I wasn’t a druggie stripper. I was a very good person doing it. But I was kind of still embarrassed about it. I always knew that it was wrong. But the drugs and everything, that’s what found me and accepted me.” Speaking on moving on from drugs, she adds: “It took a while. A good couple of weeks to think about, ‘OK, the time is coming. I don’t know when yet. But this isn’t me.’ “

Michael Buble

Michael tried out some drugs but never got into harder drugs and doesn’t think there is anything wrong with smoking some weed: “I grew up in Vancouver, which has the best weed in the world and good alcohol. You can score (buy drugs) just walking down the street, so I did. I’ve never done cocaine or heroin or anything stronger. But I don’t see anything wrong with relaxing with a joint.

Pink ditched drugs when she decided to give her career a proper go: ”It wasn’t to the point of going to the hospital, but I remember getting up off the floor in the morning – and that was the last time I ever touched a drug again. It was also the day a DJ offered to let me sing on hip hop night. His only caveat was that I couldn’t do drugs, so I didn’t. That’s the thing with me – once I make up my mind, I’m done.”

Usher

Usher has experimented but wouldn’t go near harder drugs like cocaine and no longer smokes because it makes him paranoid: “I’ve experimented with drugs, but not hard ones. I’ve never done cocaine, but I have smoked marijuana. I wouldn’t advise it, though, because it’s supposed to be bad for you. It made me paranoid.”
