5 Celebrities Who Are Scared of the Paparazzi

To be aggressively followed by men you don’t know has to be, at least at times, quite daunting. These 5 celebrities have all voiced their concerns about the paparazzi, explaining that they genuinely fear the photographers who follow them because they can often be surrounded by men much bigger than them and it can be quite a frightening experience. Candidly explaining how scary it can be, these stars have shared their personal experiences and thoughts on the subject.

Ashley Olsen

Ashley worries about dangerous paparazzi: “Honestly, I’m a wreck. Every time I see a camera, I’m a wreck. I don’t tend to react as though ‘I have to do this, it’s my job,’ I am reacting as a woman who is 5- foot-1 whose space is being invaded by a bunch of men whose aggression I can literally feel. In L.A. it is even worse because they are running red lights behind you, and I worry all the time about something terrible happening, someone getting hurt because of me, how I could ever possibly live with that. I can’t imagine what it would be like to have kids in the back seat and have to go through this and pretend for their sake that you are not scared.”

Jennifer fears simply going out of her front door because they’re always waiting: “I knew the paparazzi were going to be a reality in my life. But I didn’t know that I would feel anxiety every time I open my front door, or that being chased by 10 men you don’t know, or being surrounded, feels invasive and makes me feel scared and gets my adrenaline going every day.”

Jessica Biel

Jessica admits it can be stressful and frightening: “It’s hard. The hardest part of this whole wonderful, bizarre lifestyle and profession. You have to be Zen about it, because it can make you crazy. There are times when I have been followed by men with giant cameras in giant SUVs all day long. It scares the crap out of me and I literally come home and emotionally erupt and cry it out and sit on the floor and think: ‘Do I really want this?’.”

Miley Cyrus

Miley thinks it’s scary that men can follow her around legally: “How is it legal for men I’ve never seen before to sit in front of my house and then follow me around. So shady and scary.”

Perrie Edwards

Perrie doesn’t like being approached by men she doesn’t know: “At my age when you’re by yourself and a man comes up to you, that’s scary stuff. Just because he’s a pap doesn’t mean it’s OK.”
