5 Celebrities Who Refuse to Ever Join Twitter

While plenty of stars turn into social butterflies on twitter, these 5 stars all say they’ll never join the social networking site. Some don’t like the idea of people knowing exactly where they are and what they’re doing at any time, others are afraid they’ll say something too controversial that would land them in trouble and more just don’t think they have anything interesting to say or share so don’t feel the need to join. For many celebrities, twitter is a way to show off their personal side and gain followers, but these 5 stars aren’t interested and want to keep to themselves rather than sharing private details with the world as many others do freely.

Dakota Fanning

Dakota doesn’t want people stalking her every move via the site: ”I really don’t need to let people know where I am and what I’m doing. I feel like a lot of people want their privacy but yet they tell people where they are. ”It’s just not for me. I don’t have a facebook or twitter and I won’t ever. There’s plenty of impostors out there. There’s enough Dakota Fannings on twitter for all of us.”

Drew Barrymore

Drew thinks that the social network isn’t for her because she doesn’t like talking about everything she’s doing: “I know I’m an anomaly, I know everyone else is in love with it, but it’s not for me. I like people who use it for comedy to make people laugh. If people are making other people laugh and making jokes then that’s awesome. I just don’t like this compulsive, instantaneous, over- information, lack-of-privacy, weirdo aspect of the world. If you meet someone, they already know everything. What about showing up on the date and saying, ‘What do you do for a living? Who are your friends?’ Yes, you can avoid maybe a serial killer, but who f***ing knows? I am a romantic and it scares me.”

Elton John

Elton thinks he would end up in prison if he had a twitter account where he let his thoughts flow freely so he won’t join: ”It would end my career. I’d be in prison after about two days. I mean, no, God almighty. Me and my big mouth, no thank you. That would be the end of the career.”

Kid Rock

Kid says he simply doesn’t have anything to say:”It’s gay. If one more person asks me if I have a Twitter, I’m going to tell them, ‘Twitter this s**t, motherf**ker.’ I don’t have anything to say, and what I have to say is not that relevant. Anything that is relevant, I’m going to bottle it up and then squeeze it onto a record somewhere.”

Matt Smith

The ‘Doctor Who’ actor says he doesn’t see the point:  ”I joined for a day, when I was in Comic-Con (in San Diego), and it’s just not my cup of tea. I spend enough time on my phone and I figure who cares what I’m doing? You’ve got Moff (Steven Moffat) and Karen and Arthur on there. There’s a big ‘Who’ contingent, maybe I’ll sort of dip in and out. I just don’t see it happening any time soon.”
