16 Actors Turned Directors

Actors have been known to sometimes get more involved with movies: and that means taking a leap from in front of the camera, to behind it. Many actors have successfully tried their hand at directing – some may have numerous titles under their belt such as Mel Gibson and Clint Eastwood, while others are mixing their acting career with their directorial work, such as Drew Barrymore, who made her debut recently with Whip It starring Ellen Page. Here is a look at 16 actors and actresses who have directed a film.

Ben Affleck – The Town (yet to be released)
Actress Jennifer Garner and husband actor Ben Affleck spent the morning of July 31, 2010 at the park with their daughters in Los Angeles, California. Jennifer, Ben and their youngest daughter Seraphina enjoyed watching a game of soccer with their eldest daughter Violet and her team. The family of four looked like they had a great time spending time together since mom and dad have been busy with their work the past couple weeks. Director Ron Howard has come a long way from playing freckle-faced kids on television, mainly The Andy Griffith Show and Happy Days. Over the weekend, the 46th Chicago International Film Festival honored the Oscar winner with the Silver Hugo Career Achievement Award, in recognition of his outstanding 50-year career in the film industry.
