10 Celebrities Reveal What Their Lucky Charms Are

Posted by Katie F. on April 9th, 2013

Taylor Swift is on the cover of Wonderland magazine’s April/May 2013 issue. This particular edition is also being called the “Outspoken” issue, so it’s no surprise Swift opens up about a variety of subjects in the publication, including how she views relationships, what is feels like to be heartbroken, and what she thinks of her career.

One of the other things Swift discusses in Wonderland is her lucky number. She says the number 13 has bombarded her “at certain times when I’ve had the best night and the world night at the same time.” She uses both the positive and negative experiences to help guide her next move and takes the number as a sign that “things are lining up the way they’re supposed to be.”

Swift isn’t the only superstitious stars who trusts a lucky number or good luck charm to bring her good fortune. Check out 10 other stars who keep their lucky charms close to them at all times!

Colin Farrell

Colin Farrell always keeps his lucky belt on hand. The belt was given to him by his father and has undergone thousands of dollars worth of alterations over the past several years to make sure it’s still wearble.

Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum used to put her faith in four-leaf clovers, but the symbol brought her bad luck. Klum now carries a small bag full of her baby teeth around with her. Klum must know how weird this sounds – she admits that it’s not something she likes to advertise.

Cameron Diaz

Cameron Diaz often wear s lucky horseshoe necklace given to her by a friend in order to avoid the effects of aging. She also kept a pair of ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake’s socks as a good luck charm.

Benicio Del Toro

Benicio Del Toro’s lucky charm is a ring he wears that has a chunk of wood in the middle rather than a stone. He finds comfort in the ring because he “can knock on wood anytime.”

Helen Mirren

Helen Mirren used to wear lucky “stripper shoes.” She used to buy the heels for a low price and wear them to any event where she was nominated for things because they gave her extra height and extra confidence. The X-rated shoes must have paid off – she won back-to-back Emmy Awards while wearing them.

Steven Tyler

Steven Tyler wears a necklace with four teeth dangling from it for good luck. He wears the pendants proudly because they’re the teeth of a raccoon he caught when he was a little boy.

Leighton Meester

Leighton Meester believes a red leopard-print pair of Marc Jacobs shoes is the reason she was chosen to play Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl. She bought the shoes even though she barely had any money to her name because she “imagined that these would be the shoes that would win me the part.”

Patrick Dempsey

Aside from acting, Patrick Dempsey’s main interest is auto racing. He takes his favorite pair of red Puma racing shoes almost everywhere he goes as a good luck charm.

Serena Williams

Serena Williams’ lucky charm is a pair of shower sandals that she insists on wearing before every one of her matches. She has a few other pre-match rituals that go along with her lucky charm, including double-checking her shoelaces once she puts proper shoes on.

Robin Williams

Robin Williams always carries around a carved ivory trinket for good luck. It once belonged to his father and now holds a lot of sentimental meaning for Williams.
