Carrie Breaks Another Record
Carrie Underwood’s rendition of I’ll Stand By you has been doing pretty well on itunes. So well that it actually charted on the billboard singles chart, coming in at #6, and it’s the first iTunes exclusive to ever crack the top 10 with 124k downloads sold. That girl is posed for world domination, I tell you.

Bon Jovi Not Happy with Blake’s Remix
Michael Orland, the piano player for Idol, calls Blake’s rendition of You Give Love A Bad Name “genius”, but admits to EW that Bon Jovi wasn’t feeling the love. He says “I was scared for him, though. I knew it could go either way, as we saw with Chris Sligh weeks ago. I was in the room watching Bon Jovi with him and Bon Jovi was not digging it at all. But I thought it was so incredible and respectful of Bon Jovi’s version.” Which it was. But I can understand the artist being attatched to their original.

I doubt Blake is crying about this.  The video is topping all of the YouTube charts, and here on GTS alone we’ve gotten an unusual amount of requests and views for the vid.

More Intelligent Quotes from Chris Richardson

In his exit interview, Chris talked a little bit more about his voice and his spat with Simon about nassaly being a form of singing.

I would sing really loud just to hoarse my voice up a little bit, just to have that rock edge.

Um, I’m not sure this was a good idea. My ears certainly weren’t thanking him for that.

That was the only thing during the whole competition that they could say that I did wrong: that I was ”nasally.”I would always go up and talk to our voice coaches and say, ”I don’t really know why they keep saying I’m ‘nasally.”’ It’s not like I go out there doing it on purpose — it’s the way that I sing. And even when I made the comment about ”nasally” being a form of singing, I didn’t mean it like that. I meant that a lot of people have made it with that nasally quality — like Justin Timberlake, Adam Levine, and Rascal Flatts.

That pretty much totally contradicts what he said on the show, but whatever.
