Story of the Day: Morrissey Thinks More Homosexuals Means Less War

mor

Feel like lumping people in to categories based on their sexual orientation? Then you’ve come to the right place! Old rocker Morrissey has done just that with his broad statement regarding war and homosexuals. He believes that if more men were gay, there would be a lot less war, because, well, just because. No proper reason needed apparently. He stirred controversy by commenting:

”War, I thought, was the most negative aspect of male heterosexuality. If more men were homosexual, there would be no wars, because homosexual men would never kill other men, whereas heterosexual men love killing other men. They even get medals for it. Women don’t go to war to kill other women. Wars and armies and nuclear weapons are essentially heterosexual hobbies.”

But why do we have to define a person’s mannerisms and capacity for being a killer just based on their sexual preference? Apparently, that’s not even a thought that sprung to mind for Morrissey.  Isn’t his statement akin to saying something like ‘all white people are inherently racist’ or ‘teenage moms are all terrible parents’? There are always people who don’t fall into those lumped assumptions so easily.

Morrissey also says that being a vegetarian is the “most political gesture you can make”:

”The most political gesture you can make is to refuse to eat animals. It was so when I was a teenager, and is still the case now.”
