A source has just revealed that Simon Cowell has found out that he is having a son – congratulations to the expectant couple. Although it might be joyous news, Simon has already said that he’s swearing off diaper duty, but he admits he’s excited for the new arrival (how sweet?):
“I’m not doing that, 100 per cent absolutely not going near that… Once I got used to it (becoming a father) I did get excited. I will be a good dad, so I’m excited.”
Commenting on attending a scan to see the baby for the first time with baby mamma Lauren Silverman, Simon said that the whole experience was very “surreal” to him and now he’s gone in to protective father mode:
I went to see a scan today and it is just surreal, you literally see this thing which is now alive moving around. I feel very paternal right now.”
Trying to shake off the cheating scandal which has surrounded their relationship and the pregnancy, Simon said that while the pregnancy was a surprise, he is happy it happened with Lauren who he calls “incredible”:
“It was a surprise initially and some of the circumstances around this were very uncomfortable to say the least, but it happened and she’s an incredible girl.”
