Scarlett Johansson Doesn’t See Herself as a Sex Symbol

Scarlett Johansson doesn’t think she is a sex symbol, and comments that even if that is true at the moment, it won’t be in a few years because someone younger will replace her. Scarlett thinks her sex symbol status won’t last much longer:

”I don’t know, I don’t think of myself that way. It’s alright for now. I’m convinced that obviously in a couple of years’ time it will be somebody else. I won’t be as interesting that way.”

Scarlett doesn’t think she often chooses to play sexy characters, but it often comes off that way because of her natural curves and her confidence on camera. However, she insists that being sexy isn’t something that attracts her to a role, and that people often just get a sexy vibe from her no matter what role she’s in:

”I actually have not played that many sexy characters! Of course you could say the characters I played maybe in ‘Match Point’, maybe in ‘Black Dahlia’ (are sexy). But the characters I play aren’t really traditionally sexy, I don’t think. I don’t think I was particularly sexy in ‘Lost in Translation’ or particularly sexy in ‘The Other Boleyn Girl’ … I think it’s probably a reaction to the fact that I’m curvy and confident about it, maybe.”
