Lauren Conrad has commented on her career as a fashion designer for her own label Paper Crown which she launched in 2011, saying it is her dream come true. The tv star jokes that now the hardest part of her job is time management because she can be a “control freak” and prefers to do everything herself:

“I’m a bit of a control freak, and I don’t like things done for me, so time management is definitely the hardest thing for me these days. [But] I always wanted to be a fashion designer.”

The designer doesn’t like to splash out on many expensive high end pieces for her wardrobe, but she says that when she is investing in something luxurious, she often purchases a Chanel bag or a treatment for her skin:

“I do love their bags, but I haven’t bought one in years. If I spend a lot on a bag, it has to be a classic. I don’t splurge a lot, but when I do, it’s on not-so-fun beauty treatments for cellulite and lasers for my skin. It’s like being in a torture chamber!”

Summing up her own personal style, Lauren believes she is a minimalist who is drawn to a delicate, feminine look with a relaxed twist inspired by her Californian lifestyle:

“[It’s] girlie, California, and classic. [And] keep it minimal. I prefer really dainty things, and I like to layer.”

Speaking on her famously flawless beach wave hair, Lauren says she just likes to let it be as natural as possible:

“I let my hair do what its gonna do – I don’t fight it as much. So a light wave, a more natural texture.”
