Drew Barrymore Shares Her Bridal Beauty Tips

Actress Drew Barrymore, who married husband Will Kopelman back in 2012, has some beauty advice for brides-to-be. Drew recently founded her own makeup company named ‘Flower Beauty’ and she believes women are better off going for a natural look when they walk down the aisle. She thinks the biggest mistake brides make is to “overdo it” because a natural look is more timeless and she thinks that hair &  makeup should just be an enhanced version of your natural beauty:

“That day is so surreal and important and long-lasting for people, I think the biggest mistake you can make is to overdo it. Look like yourself on your wedding day – don’t go with crazy spiral curls and some heavy foundation and look back at that picture and be like, ‘Whoa, that doesn’t look like me.’ It should be you but the most enhanced, beautiful natural version of yourself.”

Drew adds that she doesn’t think a wedding day is a good time to experiment with your usual beauty look. She believes women are better off sticking with what they know works for them so that they won’t regret it in the future. She also thinks that neutrals look the best:

“I appreciate some women who are like, ‘I really want to change my hair colour for that day,’ but it’s not the time to play around. If you are thinking of doing something bold like a nail, pick a shade that has powders and greys and neutrals in it so it tones down the ‘cuckoo factor.’ I think wedding days and ‘cuckoo factor’ are not a good combination.”

Drew learned this lesson personally when she initially decided to try a dark dramatic lip for her wedding day, only to realize that it just didn’t work:

“I tried to do a dark lip on my own wedding day, and I just wasn’t feeling it. I went very natural. It took me 10 minutes to do my hair and I wore very little make-up, and I’m glad I did. I’m all for bold, but I just find that’s not the day for it.”
