Former ‘Disney’ star Demi Lovato has opened up on how she looks after herself, and she reveals that she loves getting her nails done! Demi is so addicted that she always has to find some time in her busy timetable to fit in a manicure. She is also very passionate about skin care, and used to experiment with homemade treatments when she was younger. Now, her passion has inspired her own skin care products:

“Everyone has their thing, and for me it’s my nails. It sounds silly, but if I go weeks without getting my nails done, I must find an hour to get a manicure. It just makes me feel better. So does taking care of my skin. As a kid I’d play with homemade recipes, like putting pineapple on my face to exfoliate my skin and doing facial steams with lavender or peppermint oils. I just loved doing stuff like that. It’s what motivated me to launch my skin care line.”

Speaking on her own beauty ethos, Demi explains that people need to simply learn to love themselves more because it’s often an internal battle many people go through and something she has plenty of experience with:

“[You] can be the most beautiful woman in the world and see yourself as hideous. You must love yourself. To look in the mirror and tell yourself that you’re a rock star, you know?”

Opening up on her usual workout routine, Demi says she really enjoys working out and has a variety of custom exercises that are made to tone and strengthen her body:

“During each one of my training sessions, I focus on lengthening and toning for the bottom half of my body; that means lots of squats and lunge variations to keep my glutes and hips strong and lean. I keep my core strong with planks, crunches, push-ups, lying glute push-ups and bridges. This strengthens my body and helps prevent injury when I’m performing on stage. Your core is your power centre.”
